ERAS® Re-Qualification

ERAS® Re-Qualification

ERAS® Re-Qualification recognizes ERAS® Qualified teams that continue to show sustained adherence to their ERAS® protocol in clinical practice. ERAS® Qualification now has a defined period of validity, and Re-Qualification is how a qualified team demonstrates continued excellence and keeps its status.

Why the ERAS® Society introduced Re-Qualification

Sustained compliance with ERAS® protocols has consistently been associated with improved patient outcomes. The ERAS® Society has decided that ERAS® Qualification should reflect a team’s ongoing dedication to enhanced recovery. In the ERAS® Society’s words, Re-Qualification is designed “not as a reassessment of past success, but as a celebration of the work teams continue to do every day.”

How it works

  • Team and protocol — A multidisciplinary team holds ERAS® Qualification for a specific ERAS® protocol, for example, colorectal, gynecology., etc
  • Based on your EIAS data — Re-Qualification is based on the multidisciplinary team’s data in the ERAS® Interactive Audit System (EIAS), which shows whether protocol compliance and outcomes have been maintained.
  • The ERAS® Society reviews — The ERAS® Society appointed trainers review each team, and the ERAS® Society decides on Re-Qualification and issues the certificate.
  • Encare coordinates — Encare handles the practical arrangements and will be in touch with all ERAS® Qualified teams.

How the ERAS® Society recognizes continued excellence

According to the ERAS® Society, teams that maintain their status:

  • retain ERAS® Qualified Center status and continued recognition as a leader in best-in-class, evidence-based patient care
  • receive enhanced recognition and visibility on the ERAS® Society website
  • have opportunities for engagement with the ERAS® Society Executive Committee

Already ERAS® Qualified, or working towards it?

Your team may already be ERAS® Qualified, or working towards ERAS® Qualification through the ERAS® Implementation Program (EIP) or EIP Assess. Either way, contact your Encare representative to discuss what ERAS® Re-Qualification means for your team.
