Hospital Universitario Valle de Hebrón in Barcelona, Spain successfully implemented ERAS® in their Gynecology Surgery department during the pandemic. The team has been supported by our partner Medtronic to work with ERAS®. They have been trained and coached through a digital on-line implementation program by Prof Adrian Alvarez and Dr Uriel Fraidenraij of University Hospital Italiano, Buenos Aires, Argentina. We wish them all continued success in their ERAS® work!
At the beginning of February 2022, the Colorectal Surgery team of Stichting Antonius Zorggroep in Sneek, the Netherlands, completed their ERAS® Implementation Program using the new generation ERAS® Interactive Audit System. In order to be ERAS® Qualified, the team have shown significant improvement in patient care by applying the ERAS® Society Guidelines and monitoring compliance. They were trained by Dr Hans de Boer and ERAS® Nurse and Coach Henriëtte Smid-Nanninga from the ERAS® Center of Excellence Martini Hospital, Groningen, Netherlands.
The University Hospital Reina Sofia in Cordoba, Spain recently completed their ERAS® Implementation Program within Liver and Colorectal Surgery. They started their ERAS® journey just before the pandemic outbreak and have, as many, faced different types of challenges throughout this time. But despite the burden, they were able to uphold good spirit to no become ERAS® Qualified Center.
Despite the challenges with the pandemic, the Ospedale Infermi di Rimini in Rimini, Italy were lead by Dr Garulli and able to complete an ERAS® Implementation and become ERAS® Qualified within Colorectal Surgery. We wish the team of Dr Garulli them all continued success in their ERAS® work!
ERAS® is expanding and recently Manipal Hospital in Bangalore became the 1st hospital in India to be appointed ERAS® Qualified Center within Colorectal and Gynecology Surgery. The teams of Manipal Hospital have been supported by our partner Medtronic to work with ERAS® for a few years, lead by Professor Somashekhar and despite the pandemic challenges, shown great progress and results. They were trained by Professor Hübner and ERAS® Coach Addor of the Centre hospitaliser Universitaire Vaudois (CHUV), Switzerland. We wish them continued success in sustaining their good ERAS® work!
Centro Hospitalar Lisboa Ocidental (CHLO) became ERAS® Qualified in the Colorectal Protocol on December 14, 2021. They were trained by Dr Manso and her team at the ERAS® Center of Excellence Hospital Beatriz Angelo, Lisbon.
A validation of Swedish hospitals applying ERAS® through the use of the ERAS® Interactive Audit System (EIAS) was recently published by Ulf Gustafsson et al in the World Journal of Surgery.
At the end of 2021, two Dutch Colorectal Surgery teams from respectively the Regional Hospital Queen Beatrix and the One Lieve Vrouwe Gasthuis (OLVG) were ERAS® Qualified. Both teams have shown significant improvement in patient care by applying the ERAS® Society Guidelines and monitoring compliance. They were trained by Dr Hans de Boer and ERAS® Nurse and Coach Henriëtte Smid-Nanninga from the ERAS® Center of Excellence Martini Hospital, Groningen, Netherlands.
