As the first hospital in Japan, Nagahama City Hospital in Shiga lead by Professor Takaori, is now ERAS® Qualified for Colorectal Surgical protocol. Professor Takaori with his team has shown tremendous improvement in the full patient care process.
In becoming an ERAS® Qualified Center, the teams used Encare’s software solution, the ERAS® Interactive Audit System (EIAS) for registration, audit and follow up. With the support of the ERAS® Clinical Experts and Coaches they, were able to demonstrate documented and consistent improvements towards the ERAS® Society guidelines, e.g more efficient work processes, multidisciplinary team work, etc – all leading to significantly improved patient outcome.
The team has been trained and supported by the ERAS® Society Clinical Experts Professor Olle Ljungqvist of Örebro Univesity Hospital in Sweden, Dr Kwang Yeong How and Dr Vera Lim of Tan Tock Seng Hospital in Singapore.
