We are proud to announce that Seoul National University Hospital has become the first hospital in South Korea to achieve ERAS® Qualification for its colorectal surgery program.
Under the leadership of Professor Seung-Yong Jeong, Professor Ji Won Park, Professor Do Joong Park and Professor Ho Jin Lee, the team successfully completed the ERAS® Implementation Program despite significant organizational challenges, including a period of healthcare worker strikes. This achievement reflects a deep commitment to advancing patient care through evidence-based practice and multidisciplinary collaboration.
Throughout the implementation, the team utilized Encare’s ERAS® Interactive Audit System (EIAS) — a digital platform that supports data collection, continuous auditing, and outcome tracking — ensuring full alignment with ERAS® Society guidelines and driving clinical process transformation. With expert guidance from ERAS® Society Clinical Experts Dr. Kwang Yeong How and Dr. Vera Lim of Tan Tock Seng Hospital (Singapore), along with ERAS® Coach Valérie Addor of CHUV (Switzerland), the hospital demonstrated consistent improvements in both clinical workflows and patient outcomes.
Achieving ERAS® Qualification confirms that Seoul National University Hospital has adopted a comprehensive, standardized, and sustainable approach to perioperative care, setting a new benchmark for surgical excellence in the region.
We warmly congratulate the entire team and look forward to supporting the continued growth of ERAS® throughout South Korea.
