Encare, in collaboration with the ERAS® Society, is proud to announce a partnership with the National Cancer Institute (NCI) of Ukraine to advance perioperative care through the implementation of Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS®) Protocols. This initiative reflects a shared commitment to improving surgical outcomes and healthcare quality in Ukraine, particularly during these challenging times.
As the leading oncology institution in Ukraine, NCI treats over 40,000 patients annually, including more than 10,000 surgeries across a wide range of specializations. With 650 beds and a reputation for excellence in oncology care, NCI has been a pioneer in integrating ERAS® standards into clinical practice over the past five years.
The collaboration will leverage Encare’s SaaS solution, including advanced auditing capabilities, to identify opportunities for enhancing compliance with ERAS® Protocols and improving patient outcomes. This partnership marks a significant step in supporting NCI’s efforts to achieve continuous improvement in perioperative care practices and patient recovery.
“We are honored to support the National Cancer Institute of Ukraine in advancing surgical care during such a critical time,” says Rasmus Waller, CEO of Encare. “Through this partnership, we aim to equip NCI with the tools and knowledge needed to optimize patient recovery and set a benchmark for ERAS® implementation across Ukraine.”
This initiative also supports the goals of the Ukrainian ERAS® Society Chapter, which was recently accepted as an international chapter of the ERAS® Society. An ERAS® Chapter is a national organization within the ERAS®Society that focuses on implementing and promoting ERAS® principles within the local region. With more than 800 active members, the Ukrainian ERAS® Chapter is driving the nationwide adoption of ERAS® Protocols to improve recovery outcomes and overall healthcare quality.
Professor Ivan Lisnyy, President of the ERAS® Society Ukraine Chapter and Chief of the anesthesiology and intensive therapy department at NCI, emphasizes the importance of this collaboration: “The implementation of ERAS®Protocols at our clinic will not only improve patient outcomes but also provide a model for other hospitals in Ukraine. This is particularly critical as we work to enhance recovery pathways during these challenging times.”
The partnership underscores Encare’s and the ERAS® Society’s dedication to global healthcare improvement and their commitment to supporting medical institutions in delivering evidence-based, patient-centered care.
