Finally able to meet in person, they became ERAS® Qualified in connection with the ERAS® USA 5th Annual Congress on November 12.

ERAS® is expanding and recently Manipal Hospital in Bangalore became the 1st hospital in India to be appointed ERAS® Qualified Center within Colorectal and Gynecology Surgery. A validation of Swedish hospitals applying ERAS® through the use of the ERAS® Interactive Audit System (EIAS) was recently published by Ulf Gustafsson et al in the World Journal of Surgery.

On June 16, 2021, the Gynecology Team of CHUM, represented by Dr Vanessa Samouëlian, Chantal Zaryczny, Elise Hillman and Laetitia Jourdan, presented their ERAS® work carried out since 2015. Based on their work, progress shown and results, they were approved for ERAS® Qualification by the ERAS® Society.

RETURN ON INVESTMENT OF ERAS MULTIGUIDELINE, MULTISITE IMPLEMENTATION
Alberta Health Services in Canada have been adopting the ERAS® program for several years showing good results. They have performed a return on investment analysis based on their implementation of several protocols (colorectal, pancreas, cystectomy, liver and gynecology) throughout 9 hospitals including about 10,000 patients. Their result shows a return of investment ratio of 1.05 to 7.31, meaning that every dollar invested in ERAS® brought $1.05 to $7.31 in return.

Alberta Health Services in Canada have been adopting the ERAS® program for several years showing good results. They have performed a return on investment analysis based on their implementation of several protocols (colorectal, pancreas, cystectomy, liver and gynecology) throughout 9 hospitals including about 10,000 patients. Their result shows a return of investment ratio of 1.05 to 7.31, meaning that every dollar invested in ERAS® brought $1.05 to $7.31 in return.

Centro Hospitalar Lisboa Ocidental (CHLO) became ERAS® Qualified in the Colorectal Protocol on December 14, 2021. They were trained by Dr Manso and her team at the ERAS® Center of Excellence Hospital Beatriz Angelo, Lisbon.

The Colorectal team at Taichung Veterans General Hospital, Taiwan achieved outstanding results in their ERAS® Implementation Program and became ERAS® Qualified on 18 Oct 2021. They were trained by Dr Kwang Yeong How and Dr Vera Lim from the ERAS® Center of Excellence Tan Tock Seng Hospital, Singapore. We are wishing them continued success with their ERAS® work with the aim to improve patient outcome after surgery.

On June 16, 2021, the Gynecology Team of CHUM, represented by Dr Vanessa Samouëlian, Chantal Zaryczny, Elise Hillman and Laetitia Jourdan, presented their ERAS® work carried out since 2015. Based on their work, progress shown and results, they were approved for ERAS® Qualification by the ERAS® Society.
